SALARY CHECKS AND DEDUCTIONS
Rules and Regulations
A. Each motion of the board to employ or re-employ on a contractual basis (fixed period of time), shall include the name, position/title, location, period of employment, annual salary (pro-rated), and the effective date;
B. Each motion of the board to employ or re-employ on a temporary basis (by the hour or day), shall include the name, position/title, location, rate of pay, period of time during which such authorization is valid, the maximum number of hours or days said employee may work, and the effective date;
C. All substitute employees shall normally be placed on an approved list by the board before they can be assigned such duty. Such list shall include the name, position/title and the effective date;
D. The board shall acknowledge in its minutes all actions with regard to employee resignation, retirement, death or discharge. Each such action shall include the name, position/title, and the effective date;
E. Time sheets are required on a weekly basisĀ·for all home instruction teachers, bilingual teachers, noninstructional employees, and all other employees who are currently paid or will be paid on an hourly basis;
F. Substitute lists are required on a semi-monthly basis for all substitute instructional employees, who are currently paid or will be paid on a daily basis;
G. Approval for payment in the performance of special activities is required as follows:
- Bedside instruction, as approved by the board;
- Extracurricular advisors, as approved by the board;
- Authority is hereby given to withhold salary or wages for unapproved time off, in accordance with board policy, by action of the Superintendent of Schools.
H. Overtime can only be paid to non-exempt employees when authorized previously by the immediate supervisor and subsequently approved by the Superintendent of Schools;
I. All approved overtime, in excess of the scheduled working hours per week shall be paid at one and onehalf times the regular hourly rate;
J. One warrant for the net amount of the payroll and a second warrant for all payroll deductions shall be deposited into special accounts for disbursement by the authorized agent(s) of the board;
K. Prior to certifying the payroll, the president (or vice president) may review all relevant employment data, at his/her discretion.
